GRS to continue cooperation with PH, BN, says Hajiji

Kota Kinabalu: Chairman of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, has stated that his party will continue to cooperate with its current allies: Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN). Currently, these parties are part of the Sabah state government. During a press conference following a meeting of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan) supreme council, Hajiji addressed potential alliances for the upcoming general election.

When asked about seat distribution among GRS and its partners, he emphasized that GRS, which leads the state government, would negotiate a fair allocation with its allies, hoping for a rational approach. No discussions have taken place yet. Despite the unknown date of the general election, which runs until the end of next year, Hajiji urged the party to prepare by mobilizing members at all levels and organizing ground-level programs.

Regarding the withdrawal of support by Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), Hajiji clarified that KDM is not part of GRS. However, he noted that KDM's elected representative in Paginatan, Datuk Rusdin Riman, supports the state government, making their support significant. Hajiji also announced 25 divisional chiefs, including new faces in Kota Marudu, Putatan, Kalabakan, and Semporna.
