England pace quartet might keep Jofra Archer going until he is 40

England's pace quartet of Jofra Archer, Ollie Robinson, Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson could keep the 31-year-old Archer bowling until he reaches 40. The fast-bowling quartet featured together for the first time in the three-Test series against Pakistan, which marked a new-look approach to the team's attack. The quartet's performances were impressive, with Pakistan dismissed for 171 and 135 in the first two innings at Headingley and Lord's.

Archer, Robinson and Tongue all took crucial wickets, with Robinson delivering the outstanding figures of 4-11 in just 13 overs. Archer, known for his injuries in the past, expressed his excitement about being part of England's new fast-bowling quartet. He stated that he could play until he is 40, thanks to the sharing of overs among the quartet.

Archer, who clocked 94 mph (151 kph) during his opening spell, also mentioned that the speed gun might not always be accurate. The heavy rain forecast for Saturday might hamper England's hopes of extending their second innings score of 81-3.
