Desa ParkCity family tragedy takes new turn as police reveal illegal investment issue alongside alleged love scam

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — Police probing the tragic deaths of four family members in a Desa ParkCity condominium in Kepong have disclosed an illegal investment scheme involving the couple, a development that adds complexity to a case already entangled in allegations of a love scam and financial losses of RM260,000. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus revealed that the family was aware of both the love scam issue and their entrapment in an illegal investment scheme.

The allegations surrounding the love scam, the scammer's existence, as well as the RM260,000 in losses and debts, remain under investigation. The revelation bolsters the financial context police are assessing after the condominium tragedy on Wednesday. Initially, investigators were probing whether financial pressure stemming from the RM260,000 debt, following the alleged victim's husband falling prey to a love scam, might have compelled the 48-year-old man to murder his wife, 47, and their two children, aged nine and seven, before taking his own life.

This speculation emerged after the discovery of a note purportedly left by the father on the family's Desa ParkCity dining table.
