Conspiracy being hatched to tarnish my image, remove me from Union Ministry: Jual Oram

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram accused certain individuals of plotting to tarnish his reputation and remove him from the Union Ministry following the arrest of his aide, Rakesh Paswan, in an organized crime case in Odisha's Rourkela. Oram previously stated that he had no objection to legal action against his aide, who was charged with sheltering criminals at a state-run guest house in the city.

Oram suggested that he would contest the upcoming 2029 general elections despite earlier announcing his decision to refrain from electoral activities. He vowed to identify those conspiring against him and promised strong action against them, asserting his ability to take drastic measures. The opposition parties BJD and Congress reacted sharply to Oram's remarks, alleging that a conspiracy had been hatched against him, indicating a severe internal conflict within the BJP.

The BJD spokesperson, Lenin Mohanty, mentioned that Oram's comments raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in the state, while the OPCC president, Bhakta Charan Das, denounced the language used by Oram as rude and reflective of the BJP's fascist ideology.
