Bihar Congress rift intensifies as rebels plan Delhi protest

Bihar Congress leaders are planning to protest against the party's state president Rajesh Ram and AICC in-charge Krishna Allavaru in Delhi on September 8. The group of nine expelled party members, including Anand Madhav, Chhatrapati Yadav, and Rajkumar Rajan, claims that the state unit cannot expel them without AICC approval. They say they were denied an audience with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to present their side of the corruption allegations.

Anand Madhav, who was once the chairman of the party's research wing, stated that the expulsion and denial of a ticket for the Assembly polls are among the reasons for their discontent. Criticizing the party's organizational practices, they allege that some Congress leaders are trying to make Bihar Congress-mukt (Congress-free Bihar).

The expelled leaders argue that they were working to flag corruption within the party and had previously met Kharge and other senior leaders. The Bihar Congress spokesperson, Asit Nath Tiwari, responded by saying that the expelled leaders refused to discuss their issues with the state head and were asked by Delhi leaders to address their concerns.
