22nd convocation held at NIT-C

On August 29, 2026, the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) held its 22nd convocation, a milestone marked by the conferral of 2,134 degrees, the highest in the institution's history. This transformational event was graced by prominent speakers who shared their insights on the role of human intelligence in shaping the future of technology and the entrepreneurial journey.

Santhosh Kumar, president of Texas Instruments, emphasized the importance of balancing AI with human creativity and judgment, highlighting the deeply interconnected nature of modern engineering. Mathew P. Tharaniyil, president of Bloom Companies, USA, spoke on the challenges of entrepreneurship, viewing each obstacle as a stepping stone to growth and meaningful achievement.

The convocation saw the graduation of a diverse cohort, comprising 1,162 BTech, 65 BArch, 18 MPlan, 575 MTech, 102 MSc, 76 MBA, and 136 PhD students, all presided over by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT-C.
