‘You could figure out this is Sehwag’s son’: Aaryavir set for India U-19 debut

Aaryavir Sehwag is set to make his India U-19 debut in the upcoming series against Australia, three weeks after iconic surnames Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid return to the blue jersey. Aaryavir, son of Virender Sehwag and nephew of Rahul Dravid, has been a consistent performer for Delhi U-19, notably scoring 297 runs against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy.

His father Virender Sehwag, himself an India legend, expressed pride in his son's talent, despite missing a triple century by just 23 runs. Delhi U-19 coach Yogesh Nagar noted Aaryavir's relentless hunger for runs and his impressive backfoot technique reminiscent of his father's. Former Delhi U-19 coach Jaswant Rai commented on the striking resemblance between Aaryavir and Sehwag, praising his aggressive batting style.

Despite limited opportunities in the Delhi Premier League, Aaryavir remained enthusiastic, showing grit and determination. Coach Uday Gupte highlighted his aggressive approach and potential as an opening batter and leg-spinner, which contributed to his selection in the India U-19 team.
