WWE SmackDown live results (Aug. 28): Updates, grades for tonight's Kevin Owens vs. Gunther vs. Finn Balor contender match

WWE SmackDown took place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Friday, August 28th, following the highly anticipated match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens. The plan for tonight's show is to resolve the confusion from the previous week's event. WWE is essentially rerunning its surprise Fatal 4-Way No. 1 contender match from SummerSlam Night 2, this time as a triple threat, with Sami Zayn excluded.

The lineup for the night focuses on the women's roster. Interim Women's Champion Chelsea Green, who returned after breaking her orbital bone, will team up with Tiffany Stratton to face The Irresistible Forces, consisting of Nia Jax and Lash Legend. Tatum Paxley, who made her in-ring debut following her appearance on the main roster, will face Michin, the henchwoman of former Women's U.S. Champion Jacy Jayne.

Paige will also be in action, facing former Women's Tag Team Champion Paige. The show will feature appearances from Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Blake Monrow, Nick Aldis, and Danhausen.
