Woman, 73, dies after being stabbed in London, Ont., home invasion

A 73-year-old woman passed away following a stabbing during a home invasion in London, Ontario, on Saturday morning. The assailant allegedly broke into the residence and attacked the elderly woman, leaving her with serious injuries. Initially, police reported that the woman had suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. However, the medical condition of the victim worsened, and she later succumbed to her injuries.

A 40-year-old man from London is now facing a second-degree murder charge, along with additional charges of break and enter, assaulting a police officer, and obstruction. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly resisted the police and threw broken glass, resulting in a minor injury to one officer.
