Umat Islam perlu jadi contoh menerusi akhlak, integriti, pesan PM

(Photo: Bernama) The Perdana Menteri emphasized that the Muslim community needs to be the best example for the entire society through good character, integrity, perseverance in work, and refusal to accept bribery or corruption.

He stated that public respect for Muslims should stem from the good values exemplified in daily life, such as hard work, keeping promises, and not misusing trust. "If people see us working hard, being good in character, not deceiving, and not indulging in drug abuse, they will respect us. We need to be a good example," he said while speaking at the Majlis Maulid Akbar alongside Malaysia Day celebrations at Masjid Tengah today.

Present was the Minister of Prime Minister’s Department Zulkifli Hasan. Anwar stated that Islam brings the message of mercy and goodness to all, so its followers must maintain relationships and kindness towards all communities regardless of race or religion. Muslims should also demonstrate balance in life by prioritizing knowledge, faith, character, spiritual and physical development, and material progress, he added.

The Prime Minister stressed that Malaysia Madani development cannot solely depend on the foundation, economy, or technological advancement alone without a strong foundation of belief, character, and integrity to preserve values and moral character. "Reaching the sky requires roots on earth. Those roots are belief, character, integrity, so our values and character must be nurtured," he said.

Anwar also stressed the importance of learning from scholars and ensuring the strong relationship between scholars and leaders through guidance and shared perspectives for building. He said Malaysia Madani must continue to drive the economy and master modern technology, but values and character must remain the cornerstone of national development.
