TVS Motor Appoints Peyman Kargar As CEO From January 2027, K N Radhakrishnan To Step Down

TVS Motor Company has appointed Peyman Kargar as its new Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 27, 2027. Kargar will replace K N Radhakrishnan, who will continue as CEO until the transition date to maintain stability in leadership. Radhakrishnan will later become a non-executive director and remain on the board until TVS Motor's annual general meeting in July 2027.

Kargar, who currently oversees TVS Motor's international business, boasts over three decades of experience in the automotive industry across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. His expertise encompasses product development, R&D, manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing. Under his guidance, TVS Motor's international operations have emerged as a significant growth catalyst, contributing around 29% of the company's sales volume, which has increased at a 33% pace.

As CEO, Kargar is poised to further propel growth across both domestic and international markets. His priorities will include driving product innovation, premiumization, and expansion into developed economies. The succession plan follows a strong performance in Fiscal Year 2026, with TVS Motor selling approximately 5.9 million vehicles globally and witnessing a 30% increase in revenue.

The acquisition of a 4.9% stake in Jana Small Finance Bank for ₹193 crore was announced by Chairman Sudarshan Venu. Venu acknowledged Radhakrishnan's contributions to TVS Motor and the TVS VENU group while expressing confidence in Kargar's ability to steer the company towards its next growth phase. Kargar emphasized his focus on enhancing TVS Motor's technology capabilities, artificial intelligence initiatives, product quality, and customer-centric approach, all while expanding the company's reach in India and overseas markets.
