TN digitises liquor stock supply: Handheld devices, mandatory OTP login for shops from Sep 1

Tamil Nadu's liquor sales monopoly, TASMAC, has implemented a new automated system for retail shop indents starting September 1. Liquor supervisors must submit stock requests using handheld devices, replacing manual processes. The initiative aims to streamline distribution, reduce paperwork, and prevent supply shortages. Eligible quantities will automatically populate on the device, and supervisors can increase orders by up to 20% based on local demand.

Physical submissions at district offices will be eliminated, and mandatory OTP authentication is required for indent submissions. A pilot phase will be conducted before the official launch, with final quantities treated as final and forwarded to local depots.
