Shakira at the Pyramids: What fans can expect from her Egypt concert

Shakira is set to perform at the Pyramids of Giza on November 28, marking her first regional stop on her latest world tour. This concert comes after the cancellation of her November 21 appearance at Abu Dhabi's Offlimits Music Festival and her November 18 performance at Doha's Stadium 974. The promoter, Rabih Mokbel, confirmed that the Egypt date is essential for the tour's economics, despite the high costs of transporting Shakira's crew.

The event will be a smaller affair, with a capacity of 20,000, and will emphasize the Pyramids as the main visual attraction. Production rules restrict the use of projections and covering the Pyramids, pushing artists to create unique experiences within these limitations. Mokbel noted that Anyma successfully used fog machines and strobe lights to create a viral moment during their Pyramid concert.

With a large expected crowd, careful logistics, including shuttle buses and meeting points, are being arranged. The concert's success will be measured by tourist attendance, with the goal of promoting Egypt's tourism industry. Around 10,000 attendees are expected to be tourists, with more than 6,000 international visitors already booked for packages related to the concert.
