The 2026 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Inter-Secondary Schools Debate Championship saw Rivers State claim victory. The champion team, represented by Community Secondary School, Abuloma in Port Harcourt, beat Team Kwara in the grand finale held at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre. Sokoto State secured the third position after defeating Ebonyi State. President Bola Tinubu's administration is dedicated to improving the education system and fostering critical thinking among young people, according to George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, praised Team Rivers' victory as a "great feat," highlighting the students' intellectual capacity, confidence, and readiness to compete nationally.
