President Mahama cuts sod for multi-tiered, multi-purpose carpark and airport hotels complex

President John Dramani Mahama broke ground for a new multi-tiered, multi-purpose carpark and airport hotels complex at the Accra International Airport. The project, aimed at modernizing Ghana's aviation infrastructure and improving passenger experience, is expected to be completed within 24 months. The complex will include a seven-story car park, two hotels, a pedestrian connector to Terminal Three, a shopping mall with a food court, retail, and office spaces, a sky lounge for entertainment, and a sky observatory for viewing aircraft take-offs and landings.

President Mahama emphasized that the investment demonstrated the government's commitment to enhancing passenger experience and ensuring airport infrastructure kept pace with the country's economic growth. The complex will address parking capacity and traffic circulation concerns, optimize land use, and provide an additional 2,030 covered parking bays.

The project is part of a broader effort to expand Ghana's aviation infrastructure across the country, including proposed airports in Bolgatanga, Wa, and Nsoatre.
