KB Financial Backs Startups Fundraising In Singapore

KB Financial Group recently organized a two-day global demo day in Singapore, in collaboration with the K-Startup Center Singapore. The event aimed to assist Korean startups in expanding their local business operations and attracting investment. Twelve startups, including seven selected by KB Financial in May under the "KB Starters" program, participated in the program.

These companies visited prominent local institutions such as TechX Ventures, ACE.SG, The GEAR, Japan's Kajima Corp.'s open innovation center, and Temasek Polytechnic.

During the event, the participating startups held detailed discussions with officials from each institution to assess the feasibility of local commercialization. Moreover, personalized meetings with venture capital firms from Southeast Asia and beyond were arranged to help the startups secure investment opportunities. On the second day, "Global IR Day" was held at the Singapore HUB operated by KB Financial. During this event, the startups engaged in investor relations activities and networking with local organizations.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the event's outcomes. TelePIX CEO Cho Sung-ik noted that they were able to introduce their company's business to verified local investment institutions and strengthen their position in Asia's aerospace industry. PiaSpace CEO Yu Hyun-soo praised the contact with major local partners as a key achievement, stating that it would serve as a stepping stone for future business expansion.

A KB Financial official affirmed the group's commitment to serving as a growth partner, helping promising Korean startups demonstrate their capabilities on the global stage.
