Prabowo Accepts Invitation to Visit Timor-Leste

President Prabowo Subianto has accepted an invitation from Jose Ramos-Horta to visit Timor-Leste following a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on August 28, 2026. The invitation was relayed during the leaders' meeting. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon confirmed that Prabowo had responded to the invitation. President Ramos-Horta invited President Prabowo to visit Timor-Leste, saying that Indonesia assumes a good neighbor policy towards all its neighboring countries.

Prabowo expressed openness to opportunities for cooperation with the Ramos-Horta administration. However, the date of Prabowo's visit to Timor-Leste has not been announced yet. The meeting aimed to strengthen ties between the two countries and explore opportunities in various fields such as environment, research, higher education, science, and innovation.
