Pahang seeks long-term solution to shallow stretches of Sungai Pahang

On August 28, the Pahang government is investigating long-term solutions to address the shallow areas of Sungai Pahang in specific regions like Kampung Pesagi. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has requested a detailed report from local authorities, which will be reviewed at an executive committee meeting to determine the most suitable methods for tackling the issue.

This includes short-term, medium-term, and long-term measures. The government is focusing on this matter due to its impact on the economy and daily activities of residents near the river. The state government is actively working on various projects like the pipe replacement program and energy infrastructure developments to strengthen basic facilities and spur the state's growth.

Projects such as the 500kV Transmission Main Intake Substation in Kampung Awah, with an investment of around RM350 million, are set to be completed by 2030 and are expected to draw more investors to the state. This network will connect key areas in the East Coast, creating a more resilient energy system for future demands. The government emphasizes that infrastructure development and ongoing investment projects are crucial for boosting the state's economy, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
