Ondo ex-speaker raises alarm over anti-party activities in APC

Former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Jumoke Akindele, has expressed alarm over alleged anti-party activities within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State. She warns that these actions could jeopardize the party's chances in the 2027 general elections if not addressed promptly. Akindele claims that some APC members in the state are collaborating with opposition candidates ahead of the elections, a development she deems dangerous for the APC's electoral prospects.

She dismisses claims that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa supports these moves, stating that even if he were aware, it would be a politically disastrous decision for him to pursue. Akindele emphasizes that the growing discontent among party members is due to unresolved grievances following the APC primary elections, with many feeling unfairly treated.

She suggests that the current reconciliation committee established by the state chapter of the APC is biased, as it comprises candidates who were previously excluded from leadership positions.
