Omokri challenges Atiku’s Tinubu 90-year-old claim with 1996 photo

Reno Omokri, Nigeria's ambassador-designate to several Central American nations, has disputed President-elect Bola Tinubu's claim that he is 90 years old. Omokri, who presented a photograph of Tinubu and journalist Dele Momodu taken in London in 1996, challenged journalist Momodu to verify the authenticity of the image. The photo, which Omokri claims is unaltered, raises questions about the credibility of Atiku Abubakar's assertion that Tinubu was 90 years old and in poor health.

Omokri questioned whether Tinubu appeared to be 60 years old in the photograph, as the President would have been 60 in 1996. He urged Nigerians and citizens worldwide to scrutinize the photo and determine whether Tinubu appeared to be in his sixties or fifties at the time. Omokri also reminded Momodu of Tinubu's support for him during his political exile under Sani Abacha's regime.

He urged Momodu to consider the moral implications of supporting a candidate who may be a nonagenarian suffering from illness. Omokri urged politicians to focus on issues affecting Nigerians rather than engaging in "age-shaming" tactics.
