Ofer Winter, unification of Arab parties, shake up Knesset seats, push RZP below threshold - poll

A recent poll conducted by Maariv revealed significant changes in the Israeli political landscape following Ofer Winter's entry into politics and the unification of three Arab parties. According to the Lazar Research poll, the coalition of Zionist opposition parties has been weakened by one seat, now totaling 59 seats, while the Arab parties have strengthened to 13 seats.

Winter's entry has created greater complexity within the coalition bloc, with his People of Israel party receiving five seats and pushing the Religious Zionism Party led by Bezalel Smotrich below the electoral threshold. The unification between Hadash-Ta al and Balad has strengthened the Arab parties' bloc, giving them eight seats in addition to the five seats received by Ra am, led by Mansour Abbas.

The combined changes have resulted in a coalition bloc standing at 43 seats, while the Zionist opposition bloc remains at 59 seats. The poll also found that 74% of Israelis are dissatisfied with the public education system, with only 18% expressing satisfaction. Additionally, a majority of Israelis with children in the education system are concerned about the introduction of content that does not align with their values and worldview.
