Munoz demands high standards as JDT gear up for Star City

Johor Darul Ta Zim head coach Xisco Munoz is urging his team to maintain high standards as they prepare for their upcoming match against rebranded Star City. Despite their 9-0 victory over Kelantan Red Warrior, Munoz emphasized that the size of the scoreline does not matter if his team cannot uphold their rigorous expectations. The Spanish coach believes Star City, previously known as Immigration, is likely to adopt a compact defensive low block to thwart the reigning champions' offensive prowess.

Munoz highlighted that his team must develop speed in transition, attack from wide areas and the middle, and remain dangerous in the penalty area. He stressed the importance of pushing forward with the same ambition, power, and intensity in their next game. With a tight fixture schedule, Munoz acknowledged the necessity of careful squad management to prevent injuries.

However, the team might be without experienced Australian center-back Shane Lowry, who is doubtful due to a hamstring strain sustained in the previous match. Munoz expressed hope that Lowry would recover soon, as he is a crucial player for the team. Looking on the brighter side, JDT's attacking line is currently in excellent form.

Iranian striker Shahab Zahedi has been exceptional with four goals, praised for his defensive discipline and high pressing. Playmaker Arif Aiman Hanapi, who has taken on the role of captain, has also proven himself as a young leader with maturity and character.
