Michigan State's Nick Sharpe under sexual assault investigation

Michigan State football player Nick Sharpe is currently under investigation for sexual assault, according to a police report obtained by The Detroit News. The alleged incident occurred on July 17 at Sharpe's apartment in East Lansing, Michigan. The victim, who is a resident of Dallas, Texas, reported the crime on July 21 to the police.

Sharpe, 23, did not respond to requests for comment. The alleged assault took place when the victim visited Sharpe's apartment, intending to watch a movie. As the two began kissing, Sharpe allegedly touched her genitalia without her consent. She claims she told him to stop, but he continued. Sharpe allegedly recorded the encounter.

The woman claims she slept in Sharpe's bedroom that night, while he slept on the couch as he couldn't control himself. The next day, she returned home to Dallas. Sharpe maintains that the woman consented to and initiated the sexual acts. He says she flew herself to Detroit, and he paid for the Uber to his apartment. Sharpe also claims she consented to be recorded during the act and that he deleted the video upon her request.

Police took Sharpe's iPhones and towels as evidence. No case against Sharpe appears in the public-facing MiCourt system as of Aug. 27.
