Man gunned down in ‘targeted attack’ in Karachi

In Karachi, a 45-year-old trader named Imran Riazuddin was fatally shot in a targeted attack on Thursday morning while en route to New Subzi Mandi, according to police. Imran, who operated a vegetable business, left his home with his relative Zakir at approximately 4:15am in a vehicle (KB-7151) driven by Sajjad Ahmed. As they traveled a short distance, two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle intercepted their vehicle, forcing it to halt.

One of the suspects then fired at Imran, resulting in his immediate death. The assailants subsequently fled the scene on their motorcycle. The police did not believe the incident was a robbery. Following an examination of the crime scene, police recovered a spent bullet casing. Further investigation is being conducted. Imran's body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal procedures.

Separately, in Shah Latif Town, an 18-year-old teenager, Muzamil Ahmed, was killed by robbers on Wednesday evening. Muzamil and his cousin were riding a motorcycle together when armed pillion riders intercepted them near Crown Marriage Hall on National Highway. When Muzamil resisted the robbers' attempt to steal his mobile phone, they shot him and escaped.
