Law no longer noble profession —VeryDarkMan

Social media personality VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, has declared that the field of law is no longer a noble profession in Nigeria. The statement came in response to criticism he received for being invited to speak at the Nigerian Bar Association’s 66th Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt. The conference featured a panel discussion on insecurity, during which VeryDarkMan shared his insights and experiences related to security challenges in the country.

Despite the criticism, VeryDarkMan maintained that he was there to represent the voiceless and marginalized in Nigerian society. He questioned why some members of the legal profession felt uncomfortable with his presence among lawyers, suggesting that their concerns were unfounded. VeryDarkMan went on to dismiss the notion that law remains a noble profession, stating that recent events have tarnished its reputation. He expressed no remorse for his assessment, stating that it is what it is.
