However, Shanahan believes that the 49ers' fan base in Los Angeles is always so vibrant that it effectively makes it a home game for them, and he would prefer that over a lengthy journey to Australia.

He expressed his desire to play the Rams at home, but acknowledged that they will play the Rams wherever the schedule takes them. Shanahan noted that while playing in Australia might be an unusual experience, it will undoubtedly be a thrilling atmosphere, and as always, when the 49ers face the Rams, it's a formidable and challenging contest.

Looking ahead, he expressed anticipation for the game. Rams coach Sean McVay echoed a similar outlook after his team's preseason finale. He stated that the schedule is a bit unconventional, but it is simply how the NFL has arranged his team's games this season. McVay emphasized that this unique schedule shouldn't be used as an excuse.
