KP to Get 26 New Tourism Projects

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has instructed officials to expedite development projects in tourism, culture, archaeology, and museums sectors, ensuring their timely and high-quality completion. During a progress review meeting chaired by Special Assistant Malik Adeel Iqbal, the KP Chief Minister's office detailed the department's Annual Development Program (ADP) which includes 58 projects, 26 of which are new.

Eleven projects will be executed through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, while two are foreign-funded and seven are nearing completion.

Officials were tasked with accelerating ongoing projects and enhancing construction and implementation standards. Adeel also ordered authorities to prepare Planning Commission-I (PC-I) documents for development schemes at the earliest and complete planning requirements promptly to avoid delays.

The KP government aims to upgrade tourism facilities, including Tourism Facilitation Centers which will offer visitors comprehensive information, guidance, and related services. Work on a proposed chairlift project in Galiyat is to commence soon, alongside improvements at major tourist destinations across the province. Adeel emphasized that developing Galiyat and other tourist areas would enhance their appeal to visitors while generating employment and business opportunities for local communities.

He highlighted KP's potential for tourism development through its natural landscapes, historical heritage, and diverse cultural traditions. Lastly, Adeel stressed the importance of timely completion and quality maintenance of development projects to bolster the province's tourism sector.
