Korea's religious communities offer condolences to Nepal flood victims

Korea's religious communities have extended their condolences to the victims of the devastating flash floods and landslides that struck Nepal. The Association of Korean Buddhist Orders, representing 28 orders of Korean Buddhism such as Jogye, Taego, and Cheontae, deeply mourns the lives lost in the disaster. They have also expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Nepal, hoping that the affected areas and residents will soon return to their peaceful daily lives.

The Buddhist community emphasizes Nepal's special significance as the birthplace of the Buddha and its long-standing ties with Korea's Buddhist population.

In addition to the Buddhist orders, Protestant organizations in Korea have also issued messages of condolence. The United Christian Churches of Korea, representing Protestant churches in the country, deeply mourns the loss of life and extends its heartfelt sympathies to those who have lost family members and homes. The organization has consulted missionaries in nearby areas and will continue to provide support.
