Kim Soo-hyun to resume activities in S. Korea after over a year

Actor Kim Soo-hyun is set to make his first public appearance in Korea next month, according to informed sources. This is more than a year after he nearly halted all activities in the country following allegations related to the late actress Kim Sae-ron. Kim is scheduled to serve as an award presenter at The Fact Music Awards, which will take place in Busan on September 19, as confirmed by officials from the awards organization committee.

The planned appearance follows a series of events that began in March 2025, when conservative YouTuber Kim Se-ui was arrested for allegedly disseminating false and fabricated information about the actor concerning his relationship with the late actress, who was a minor at the time. Hover Lab, the YouTube channel operated by Kim, made these allegations after the actress's death in February 2025 at the age of 24.

Kim subsequently held a press conference, admitting to dating the actress while denying claims that their relationship occurred when she was underage. He also filed defamation complaints against the YouTuber and the late actress' family. Recently, police announced that they had concluded their investigation.
