Guinness Book of Records title holder of world’s youngest artist opens exhibition in Sweden

John Christian Caldeira Weibull, born on December 12, 2023, is set to open a three-day exhibition in Malmo, Sweden next November, two years after Guinness World Records named him the youngest male artist in the world at just ten months and seven days old. The artist's title was officially verified in October 2024. Rubia Caldeira, John's mother, introduced colour to her son before he could speak, and he began drawing on an LED drawing tablet when he was five months old.

Paintings followed at six or seven months, and the youngster continued to create art as he grew stronger. A small exhibition at Marbella sold several of his works, and another in Villa Padierna reportedly sold five pieces before the doors opened. His father is Swedish, and his mother is Brazilian, which has led to a growing Swedish community in Marbella.

MIVA Fine Art Gallery in Malmo will display John's artwork from November 20 to 22. The gallery's notes indicate that the exhibition will follow John's progression from tablet doodles to later canvases. As John turns three in December, he continues to paint. The reception of his artwork by Swedish collectors remains to be seen. With his unique artistic journey and cultural background, a young artist from Marbella is making waves in Sweden.
