Fospah launches mobile app to fast-track complaints

Islamabad witnessed the formal inauguration of the Complaint Management System (CMS), a mobile application and new website for the Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (Fospah), on Thursday. Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar inaugurated the system, alongside officials from Fospah, the National Information Technology Board (NITB), and other stakeholders.

"The use of modern technology could play an important role in making access to justice easier, more transparent and more effective," Senator Tarar said during the ceremony. He highlighted that the CMS would enable better monitoring of different stages of complaints and cases, ultimately strengthening case management, institutional performance, and accountability.

Senator Tarar emphasized the importance of women's participation in society, noting that Islam granted women extensive rights. The government's efforts aimed at protecting, advancing, and promoting women's rights, alongside providing a safe working environment, would further the country's overall development, he said.

Fauzia Viqar, Fospah's Federal Ombudsman, explained that the digital system's introduction aimed at making the complaint addressing process easier, more accessible, transparent, and effective for citizens. The CMS would allow Fospah to manage the entire process more organically, from complaint registration through various stages of a case to delivering orders and final decisions.

The system would improve record management, facilitate case progress monitoring, and provide complainants with timely access to information about their cases. Additionally, complainants could submit various applications, review petitions and execution applications, alongside accessing electronic orders and case-related documents via the system.

The new website would grant the public easy access to information about Fospah's services, laws, procedures, decisions, orders, statistics, and institutional activities, according to Viqar.
