Five persons injured near Ambur

On Friday, a family of four and a lorry driver were involved in a collision near Ambur town on the Chennai – Bengaluru Highway (NH 48), resulting in injuries to all five individuals. The family, consisting of K. Silabarasan, 35, his wife, and two children, were traveling to Tirupati in an SUV hired from a private travel agency.

As the SUV attempted to navigate onto the highway, it was struck by a lorry carrying liquor bottles, driven by 59-year-old T. Jeevanatham from Arcot. The impact injured everyone inside the SUV. Jeevanatham, the lorry driver, was unharmed and proceeding from Vellore to Tirupattur to unload the consignment at a Tasmac godown.

Paramedics from the Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur rushed to the scene and provided medical assistance to the injured. Passersby also assisted in bringing the victims to the hospital. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
