Ex-deputy IGP Mazlan Lazim appointed Zico Trust chairman

Mazlan Lazim, a former deputy inspector-general of police who served over four decades in the police force, has been appointed as the new chairman of Zico Trust (M) Bhd, effective August 14th. The appointment comes as part of the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing board oversight and governance to support its long-term growth as a provider of custom trust and fiduciary services.

Jeevan M Sundaram, Zico Trust's managing director, highlighted Mazlan's extensive experience in managing intricate organizations where accountability, prudent decision-making, and responsible stewardship are critical. His diverse background, encompassing both public service and corporate board positions, will offer Zico Trust valuable insights as it continues to fortify its governance framework and lay the groundwork for sustained success.

Mazlan, who holds a master's degree in human resource development from Universiti Putra Malaysia, began his police career more than four decades ago. Upon retiring from his law enforcement duties in 2021, he maintained his leadership roles in the corporate world, serving as the independent non-executive chairman of Computer Forms (Malaysia) Bhd, the chairman of PBLT Sdn Bhd, and the deputy chairman of Rapid Synergy Bhd.
