Dzifa Gomashie is my aunt but Tourism Ministry must be dissolved – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has criticized the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, calling for its dissolution. The musician expressed his concerns regarding the lack of innovative support for the country's creative industry, stating that he has not observed any significant improvements in the sector since the ministry's establishment.

In an interview on GHOne TV, Shatta Wale questioned the effectiveness of the ministry in promoting musicians, actors, and other creatives whose work has gained considerable attention both domestically and internationally. He argued that creatives should receive stronger backing from the government to help them showcase Ghana to a global audience.

The artiste pointed out that some talented individuals, who have produced work that has garnered international recognition, are not approached by the ministry for support. Shatta Wale emphasized that government institutions in charge of the creative sector must transition from their conventional roles to develop practical initiatives that directly benefit the stakeholders in the industry.
