Death of 15 kids at PIMS tragic: PPPP SG

In a tragic incident at PIMS, 15 children lost their lives, according to Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, the Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP). Bukhari, speaking to the media, described the event as deeply distressing and tragic, attributing the incident to serious negligence and dereliction of duty.

He called for a transparent and impartial inquiry to uncover the facts, determine responsibility, and examine the performance of the concerned ministry. Bukhari emphasized that if the authorities fail to properly manage even two hospitals, the minister and officials involved should be held accountable. He lamented the failure of governance, stating that the system appears to be dysfunctional, and effective governance is absent.

Bukhari noted that whenever such tragedies occur, the public has the right to question whether there is a deeper problem of bad governance. He expressed pain that the young children were unable to receive adequate protection, leading to the loss of precious lives. Bukhari urged that the parents of the deceased children be included in the inquiry process, kept fully informed, and given satisfactory answers.

He demanded that the negligence and shortcomings of the hospital administration be thoroughly investigated, including the failure to open the emergency gate at the critical time. Bukhari also questioned the presence of gas cylinders in hospital wards, raising concerns about safety arrangements. He called for a comprehensive review of the hospital’s safety protocols and the responsibilities of the administration to prevent future tragedies.

Bukhari demanded that the inquiry be completed transparently, those responsible be identified and held accountable in accordance with the law, and justice be provided to the bereaved families.
