Conference League: Prince Amoako Jr scores in Nordsjaelland win over St Gallen

Ghanaian footballer Prince Amoako Jr netted one of the goals as FC Nordsjaelland secured their position in the league phase of the Conference League with a 3-2 victory over St Gallen on Thursday night. The Ghanian youngster was instrumental in the win, scoring the second goal of the night. Nordsjaelland had already won the first leg of the match 1-0 in Denmark, giving them an advantage going into the second leg.

Stephen Acquah and Amoako Jr were the two Ghanaians selected for the Danish team. The match initially saw Juho Lahteenmaki put St Gallen ahead in the 14th minute. However, Amoako Jr equalized for Nordsjaelland in the 24th minute, marking his second goal of the 2026/27 season. Aliou Balde equalized for St Gallen shortly after. With just eight minutes left on the clock, Hjalte Boe Rasmussen secured the win for Nordsjaelland, giving them a 4-2 aggregate victory and a spot in the league phase.

Amoako Jr aims to better his goal-scoring record from last season, where he scored eight goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for Nordsjaelland.
