Anwar extends condolences to Opposition Leader Hamzah Zainudin over mother’s death

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has paid tribute to Opposition Leader Hamzah Zainudin following the death of his mother, Mariam Kassim. In a message on social media platform X, Anwar and his wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, expressed their hope that the Zainudin family would find the necessary strength and resilience to endure the loss. They prayed for Allah SWT to grant the family mercy, forgive their sins, and welcome Mariam's soul to join the righteous.

The late Mariam Kassim, 90, was buried at the USJ 22 Muslim Cemetery in Subang.
