2026 Tour Championship: Cameron Young makes quick turnaround at East Lake, shoots 62

During the second round of the 2026 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, Cameron Young defied the odds with a remarkable turnaround, shooting a 62 and catching leader Min Woo Lee. Young, who had previously been tied for last place, birdied seven out of nine holes in the middle of the round, including an 8-under 62. He finished off the round with a 42-foot eagle putt at the par-5 18th hole, temporarily matching Lee's score.

Young expressed his amazement at the turnaround, stating that he initially felt like he was making life choices. Earlier, he had bogeyed three of his first five holes and struggled to find fairways. However, on the back nine, Young made nine fairways, allowing him to make better putts and post a strong score. Both Young and Lee shared similar conditions in their respective rounds and found solace in playing alone in their "bubble."

Lee dropped out of contention after a triple bogey on the fifth hole, while Young moved up 22 spots on the leaderboard to tie for fifth with Scottie Scheffler, two shots behind the current 36-hole co-lead of Ryan Gerard and Viktor Hovland.
