Ryan Gerard and Viktor Hovland share the 36-hole lead at the Tour Championship

At the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Ryan Gerard and Viktor Hovland are tied at the top after the 36-hole lead. Gerard demonstrated a strong performance, hitting five birdies and also dropping a surprise shot from just inside 80 feet, resulting in a 5-under 65. Hovland mirrored Gerard's progress with a 66, joining him at 10-under 130 going into the weekend.

This included Scottie Scheffler, the world's No. 1 player, who posted a 67 and is trailing by two shots. Cameron Young, who was last place following the first round, managed to overtake the leaderboard with a remarkable 62, placing him in a tie for the lead alongside Gerard and Hovland. Young's exceptional round included a notable eagle putt on the par-5 18th hole.

Scottie Scheffler, now two shots behind, managed to regain some ground with five birdies in a six-hole stretch around the turn. Despite these strong performances, the race for the $10 million prize and the five-year exemption on the PGA Tour remains intense, with the focus on the upcoming Presidents Cup selection.
