A 20-year-old apartment maintenance worker drowned while showering at an apartment in Incheon, Yeongeon-dong. The incident occurred on March 23 at 10:37 a.m. Police suspect electrocution caused the death. Experts from the National Forensic Science Research Institute also concluded the cause of death was electrocution. The victim's father, Lee Jinyong, criticized the management company for its poor management.

He claimed his son's coworker had mentioned that the shower sometimes experienced electrical leakage. The 'Do not use water after confirming no electrical leakage' notice was posted on the wooden platform above the shower area. This notice aligns with the regulation requiring grounding to prevent electrocution risks. Legal representative Kim Woo-seok stated that this action could be considered a violation of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and potentially a breach of the Disaster Prevention Act.

The management company also refused to install shower space as requested by the apartment residents' association, which the legal expert believes may result in penalties for the company. The management office explained that the building's age and structural limitations made it difficult to quickly replace or repair the shower.
