Wahl-O-Mat: Welche Partei bei der Landtagswahl in Sachsen-Anhalt zu Ihnen passt

On September 6th, a new Landtag will be elected in Sachsen-Anhalt. This election primarily revolves around economic, educational, migration, and internal security issues. To determine which party's stance aligns with their own, individuals can utilize the Wahl-O-Mat, an online tool that compares personal positions with those of the parties running for election.

By answering various questions, voters can ascertain which party best reflects their views. The Wahl-O-Mat is offered by the Federal Centre for Political Education (bpb), a federal agency under the Interior Ministry's jurisdiction. Established in 1952, the bpb aims to promote democratic awareness and encourage active political participation among citizens.

The agency's work is guided by a constitutionally mandated mission and overseen by a 22-member Kuratorium composed of members from the German Bundestag. The bpb's activities are supported by a scientific advisory council comprising up to 14 experts. The online Wahl-O-Mat has been available since 2002, providing updated information ahead of Land- and Bundestag elections, as well as European Parliament elections.

The Landtag in Sachsen-Anhalt is set to convene on September 6th, with voting hours between 8 and 18 hours. Voters who cannot attend in person may opt for a postal ballot. As of July 24th, 15 parties have been granted permission to participate in the Landtagswahl. These include the CDU, AfD, Die Linke, SPD, FDP, Grüne, BSW, and the Freien Wähler, as well as smaller entities like the BSW and Freien Wähler.

The parties have not received approval to run include the KPD, Libertären, and PdV. Sven Schulze, Ministerpräsident since January 2026, leads the CDU, while Ulrich Siegmund, a member of the AfD, will run for the Landtag. The SPD is represented by Armin Willingmann, who serves as Minister for Science, Energy, Climate Protection, and Environment.
