US officials tie cyclospora outbreak involving iceberg lettuce to 3 more states

Federal health officials reported on Thursday that cyclospora illness cases linked to recalled iceberg lettuce have now been confirmed in 20 U.S. states, marking the largest outbreak of its kind in the nation. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified cases in three more states—Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas—bringing the total number of affected states to 20. The cumulative count of people sickened by the parasite has risen to 11,458, up from about 10,900 reported the previous week.
