Ukraine ready to cooperate with Moldova and Romania on energy, logistics and security – Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine expressed his readiness to collaborate with Moldova and Romania on various fronts, including energy, logistics, and security, during a joint press conference in Chișinău. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania are natural allies, and strengthening this alliance is crucial. He further stated that Ukraine is prepared to assist in the development of the security capabilities of both Moldova and Romania.

The Ukrainian leader also highlighted the importance of coordinating steps with Moldova in the realm of European integration, strongly asserting that both nations will ultimately become full members of the European Union. Romania was commended for its support in Ukraine's relations with the European Union and at the EU institution level.

Zelensky noted that Russia poses a threat not only to Ukraine but to all its neighbors, necessitating collective action to respond robustly to such aggression. He underscored the necessity of working together to address threats to their peoples' security and economic well-being. The discussion focused on joint efforts in the energy sector and infrastructure that connects the three countries, accounting for a significant portion of their economic potential and national security.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of implementing genuine measures that truly bolster their states. The Ukrainian President remarked that such agreements are already in place between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania, as well as among their respective governments. Zelensky arrived in Chișinău to join the festivities commemorating Moldova's Independence Day.
