Tottenham land Marmoush from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur signed Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush on loan from Manchester City, marking their second summer signing from the Premier League giant. The 27-year-old joined the North London club on a season-long loan deal, with the option to make it permanent next summer. The transfer, valued at £60 million (US$82 million), follows the £75 million initial fee paid for Brazil winger Savio, who made his debut for the club just days earlier.

So far, Tottenham's summer transfer window has seen the club spend over £300 million, with signings including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi. Tottenham's head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, praised Marmoush for his ambition, hunger, and goal-scoring threat, which he believes will be a valuable addition to the team.

Marmoush, who previously played for Eintracht Frankfurt, struggled for playing time at Manchester City due to Erling Haaland's dominance at centre forward. Despite that, he managed to score 16 goals in 62 appearances for City and earned 11 caps for Egypt, including appearances in the World Cup. Marmoush expressed his excitement about joining Tottenham, describing it as one of the biggest clubs in the world with an attractive project.
