Tottenham land Marmoush from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur have completed a season-long loan deal with Manchester City to sign Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush for £60 million. The 27-year-old joins the London club after Brazil winger Savio's arrival earlier in the summer. Marmoush's move includes an obligation to make it permanent next season. The deal comes as Tottenham's overall outlay for the summer transfer window now exceeds £300 million, following previous signings of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, defender Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi.

Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi praised Marmoush, stating that he is exactly the kind of player they want at the club - ambitious, hungry, and determined to make a difference. Marmoush, who signed with City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025, struggled for playing time due to Erling Haaland's established presence in the team.

However, he scored 16 goals in 62 appearances for City and has 11 goals in 55 appearances for Egypt's national team. Marmoush expressed his excitement about joining Tottenham, calling it one of the biggest clubs in England if not the world and praising the project's attractiveness.
