Tension in Mumbai’s Parel after clashes between 2 groups; police deploy force

Mumbai witnessed brief tension on Wednesday night after a scuffle and stone pelting erupted between two groups during an Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession in the Parel-Chinchpokli area. The police quickly brought the situation under control and reported that the area is now peaceful with heavy security deployed. Initial reports suggest the incident occurred near the Laxmi Cottage Building in Parel, following slogans allegedly raised from both sides, which triggered a verbal altercation and clashes. Stone pelting was also reported during the confrontation.
