A university lecturer who murdered an international student appears to have disposed of the victim's body in multiple locations. On the 4th, the police announced that they had arrested a 30-year-old male lecturer at a university in Seoul on suspicion of murder and disposal of a corpse. The suspect is believed to have killed the 20-year-old female victim, who was an international student at the university, at his home in Gangnam, Seoul, on the 2nd. Police found that the suspect had taken out a large box from his home at around 1:00 am on the 3rd, and then taken a taxi to a nearby convenience store, where he asked an employee to help him put the box into the trunk of his car. The police have analyzed CCTV footage and found that the suspect appears to have thrown the box into the Namhan River, which runs through Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. However, police have not yet found any parts of the victim's body. They believe that the suspect may have dismembered the body and disposed of it in multiple locations. The police are investigating whether the suspect and the victim had any prior conflicts. The victim's family had reported her missing on the 2nd, and police launched an investigation. The suspect had been working as a lecturer at the university for two years and was known to have been in charge of the victim's academic advising.
