State-run Jayadeva Institute bags AORN safe surgery certification

Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Bengaluru has made history by becoming the first government hospital in India to receive the AORN safe surgery certification. This prestigious recognition acknowledges the implementation of the Association of Operating Room Nurses’ "Lead the Way" quality improvement programme.

The programme, conducted in collaboration with 3M Life Sciences, focuses on enhancing perioperative care and ensuring safe surgical procedures. Institute director B. Dinesh emphasized that this certification represents an important milestone in the hospital's ongoing commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare services. The certification, coupled with the institute's NABH accreditation and National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification, underscores the hospital's dedication to maintaining stringent standards of quality and patient safety.

Dr. Dinesh expressed his congratulations to Dr. Naveena, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Infection Control, along with the doctors and staff who played a pivotal role in implementing the programme.
