Speeding SUV Goes On Rampage In Indore’s Rau, Hits 3 Two-Wheelers & Tractor; 4 Injured

On Wednesday, a speeding SUV in Rau, Indore caused a violent collision with three two-wheelers and a tractor, resulting in four individuals sustaining injuries, one of them being critical. Rajpal Singh Rathore, in-charge of the Rau police station, reported that the incident took place in front of Shramik Colony around 11:30 am. The driver, Aman Malviya, is believed to have mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake when he spotted a bike rider.

The cause of the accident has yet to be confirmed. The driver initially struck a scooter, followed by two additional two-wheelers before colliding with a tractor that was heading in the opposite direction. The impact caused the tractor to overturn. Witnesses stated that after the two-wheelers, the driver attempted to move the car forward, dragging some of the injured for a short distance.

A substantial crowd gathered at the scene. The injured individuals identified are Rajpal, Bhagat Singh, Pawan and Mustafa, comprising two scooter riders, a bike rider and the tractor driver. As no ambulance was available, the police utilized a First Response Vehicle (FRV) to transport the injured to private hospitals. It was revealed that Aman Malviya, the driver, owns a car garage on Kesarbagh Road.

The SUV, belonging to Devendra Joshi, had been brought to the garage for repairs; Aman had driven it for a test drive post-service when the accident occurred. Police seized the SUV and apprehended Aman. Five individuals were injured in a separate incident when a sleeper bus struck a wall near Limbodi Gate on Wednesday morning. Tejaji Nagar police station reported that the Rahul Travels bus, en-route from Maharashtra and headed towards Sarwate, lost control near Limbodi Gate, colliding with a wall.

The bus driver and front-seat passengers suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital; the front portion of the bus sustained significant damage. Police suspect that a car may have been crossing the road at the Limbodi-Shriyantra Nagar crossing, causing the driver to lose control. Further investigation is ongoing. Two people, including a woman, were injured in another collision on Sanwer Road when a city bus hit a stationary city bus.

The woman, identified as Shama (55), a resident of Rau, and Karan Rathore, driver of the stationary bus, were taken to the hospital. Siyaram Singh Gurjar, Banganga police station in-charge, is recording their statements and investigating the cause of the accident.
