Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra may undergo a significant visual transformation, according to leaked CAD renders. The primary alteration appears to be a raised camera plateau covering the upper part of the device, which houses three rear cameras. This shift appears to be a departure from the traditional vertically separated lens design.

The renders suggest the Galaxy S27 Ultra will be slightly larger than its predecessor, measuring approximately 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm, with the camera bump potentially adding an extra 12.53mm to its overall thickness. The phone is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display, a 5,700mAh battery, and possibly adopt silicon-carbon battery technology.

The camera hardware is rumored to include Samsung's ISOCELL HP6 main sensor and a 50MP Sony IMX55 ultrawide sensor. The S Pen is also expected to remain a part of the device. Samsung is likely to use Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme processor, though the Exynos 2700 could be an alternative in some markets. The Galaxy S27 Ultra may not adopt LPDDR6 memory or UFS 5.0 storage.

While the price is not confirmed, a $100 increase to around $1,399 is suggested, potentially linked to the broader memory supply crunch. Samsung's launch timing remains uncertain, with the Galaxy S27 series expected to arrive around February 2027. The most significant change with the Galaxy S27 Ultra may not just be the camera bump, but also the larger battery and a simplified telephoto setup, potentially distinguishing it from previous models despite its recognizable silhouette.
